Mediation Services

Ed Sullivan has over 20 years of experience litigating employment law cases in federal and state courts nationwide.  In employment-related appeals, he has successfully presented cases before the U.S. Supreme Court, the U.S. Courts of Appeals for the Fifth and Eleventh Circuits, and Texas intermediate appellate courts.

Because of his experience, lawyers began asking him to mediate their disputes.  He has built a strong track record of facilitating resolutions, even in seemingly intractable cases.  As a result, he now offers his services to parties needing an employment law mediator.

Approach

His direct, solution-oriented style—rooted in deep legal knowledge and the ability to communicate effectively with executives, managers, and frontline employees—bridges gaps and overcomes settlement barriers.  Even if the parties fail to resolve the matter, participants gain a clearer view of the case’s strengths, weaknesses, and risks, which informs subsequent litigation strategies.

Suitability

Ed continues to enjoy an active litigation practice and mediates part-time.  His fees reflect his experience and the value that he brings to resolving cases.  He is particularly well-suited to mediate collective and class actions under the federal Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) and applicable state laws, as well as other high-stakes employment cases with credible demands of at least $300,000.

Fees

For most six- and seven-figure cases, fees typically range from $3,500 to $5,500 per side, depending on the case’s complexity, the size of the class, and the time Ed requires to prepare for the mediation.

Location

Ed conducts mediations over Zoom or in Houston, Texas.  Should the parties wish to hold mediation elsewhere, they will each bear the additional travel expenses.
